I love dogs. When I was 7 years old, I fell off the garage roof, and I was saved by my black cocker spaniel. He alerted my dad. It's been a love affair ever since. I can't think of any relationship that is more enjoyable and precious than the one I have with my dogs.

Since I was a girl, I've cared for and loved many dogs. I keep notes in my diary, now I call it my journal. I notice dogs. I mean I have this connection or maybe it's as simple as a gift. I understand dogs, and there are so many times, I believe my dog knows exactly what I am saying. I often wonder if, in fact, dogs are a whole lot smarter and wiser than most people give them credit for.

I don't think I am so tuned in as to be a 'dog whisper' like the real dog people. But I do believe I have a gift that allows dogs to know me and feel my thoughts. Maybe it's a scent I have on my body, because even dogs I meet for the very first time seem to sense it. Most dogs are naturally drawn to me... which of course, I love.

I do notice... but I started researching dogs and dog behavior when I was a child and I have gained quite a library of thoughts about dogs. I've nursed many different wounds, injuries and illnesses. I suffer when I see the face of a dog suffering. I rejoice with my dogs are happy and when they sleeps peacefully knowing they are safe and cared for. I feel a joy as strong as when I first looked at my baby asleep in the crib.

What most people don't know about me is that I communicate with dogs better than I do with people if that makes sense.

Over the years, I purchased a lot of dog products from stores and other online pet shops and realized that a low price meant that I got seconds or refurbished items. (In other words, the item either was defective, or repaired and sold as if new.) I love my dogs and I want the best products for them to make sure they are safe, happy and comfortable.

I guessed other dog owners felt the same way. That's one of the reasons I started this site. I make sure everything we recommend is the quality I want for my dogs, so I know your dog is getting the best quality dog beds, clothing and other pet supplies you want for your dog.

I have loved and cared for dogs most of my life. I have made it a personal commitment to learn all there is to know about raising happy, healthy, well behaved dogs, especially when there are young children in the family. I'm not a Vet and I'm not a dog trainer, although I have trained many dogs. I realize that living with a dog is an ongoing learning experience, especially since there are so many different dog breeds, registered dogs and mixes with unique personalities. Everyone who knows me knows that I am an advocate for dogs.

I get enormous pleasure from living with a dog. It's like bringing home a huge bottle of perfume from the store. It's beautiful to look at. But when you bring it home and open it up, the fragrance wafts into the room, tingles your senses, and multiplies your pleasure millions of times. Yes, millions and millions. Living with our dogs makes life so much more sweet.

One of the biggest questions people ask me is about bringing home a puppy. Puppies with concentrated early training grow up with good habits. It's a myth that grownup adult dogs can't learn new tricks. Adult dogs can be taught new tricks. Aging dogs need special care and attention. Traveling with a dog can be easy or frustrating. Choosing a dog doesn't have to be intimidating.

Puppies need a different kind of care and training than older dogs. But that's not all...

Two of our dogs passed last year. Adobie and Wolfie. Adobie was a black Lab mix. Wolf was a Lhasa Apso: he was 11. It was heartbreaking. Coping with the loss of a dog is cry my heart sad.
